WHAT: Teachers’ Forum with PAUL EDMUND-DAVIES, former principal flute for over 20 years with London Symphony Orchestra. He is currently on tour in the USA.
MAIN TOPIC: The Language of Flute Performance – Exploring musical expression and phrasing through the basics of sonority, articulation, finger technique and intervals.
DISCUSSION: How to help students think about where they are going when they play. All sound that comes out of your flute has to say something, especially when no one is listening!
CLASS PERFORMERS: Students of various ages from area teachers will play for Mr Edmund-Davies, from 6th grade up through high school and college conservatory flute majors in grad school. This will allow an excellent forum for all teaching interests.

Paul Edmund-Davies is widely recognized for his work with the London Symphony Orchestra. Throughout his tenure with the Orchestra, he performed on over 50 film score recordings, including Star Wars, Aliens, Braveheart, Harry Potter, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, and Honey I Shrunk the Kids.
