Do you love playing chamber music with others? The BFA Chamber Music Program is a great way to expand your musical activity and experience by performing in duos, trios, quartets, and quintets of either mixed instruments or all-flute ensembles. Chamber groups build wonderful musicianship skills in a fun, friendly environment. Participants learn balance awareness, blend and color concepts, intonation control, acute listening, rhythmic precision, sensitivity to subtle changes of interpretation, and the ability to communicate musical ideas.
After a relaxed and informal “audition,” students are grouped with others of similar age and skill level. For the “all-flute” groups, part of each rehearsal is run as a flute class, in order to provide tips for achieving new flute skills.
Groups meet once a week. Students do not need to be enrolled in BFA private lessons in order to register. All instruments and ages are invited to join!
