Catherine Jones

Catherine Jones attended the Walnut Hill School in Natick, Massachusetts, class of 2011.  She studied with Judy Grant and was a member of the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, the NEC Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Boston Flute Academy.  During the summer of 2010, she attended Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute as a member of the Young Artist Orchestra.

Before studying with Judy Grant, Ms. Jones studied with Douglas Worthen, Nina Barwell, and Leslie Stroud.  She won first place in the New England String Ensemble’s Junior Flute Concerto Competition, and performed in masterclasses with Linda Toote, Gary Schocker, Marco Granados, Suzanne Gilchest, and numerous others involved in the Boston Flute Academy.

In addition to the flute, Catherine also enjoys classical singing.  She studied with Andrea Delgiudice, and performed the role of the Third Spirit in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” during the summer of 2008, at the Tuscia Opera Festival in Italy.

After graduating from high school in 2011, Ms. Jones went on to study flute performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
