Geraldine Morillo Barazarte

A native from Caracas, Venezuela, Geraldine Morillo Barazarte earned her BM from Stetson University (Deland, FL) in 2007, cum laude, where she studied under the tutelage of Dr. Jean West and Susan McQuinn.  She has taken lessons with Sarah Brady, Marco Granados, Geralyn Conticone, Walfrid Kujala, and Elizabeth Rowe and participated in festivals and masterclasses including the Duxbury Music Festival and the Orchestral Excerpts masterclass by Walfrid Kujala.

Mrs. Barazarte is the piccoloist for the Metropolitan Wind Symphony in Natick, MA, with which she performs regularly at the Lexington Cary Hall.  Having an interest in Latin music, Mrs. Barazarte also performs with Venegaita, a Venezuelan popular music band based in MA, and along with her husband, Javier Barazarte, founded Sabana & Talento, a traditional Venezuelan folk music ensemble.

Mrs. Barazarte’s teaching experience includes private and studio lessons in several public schools of Central Florida (2003-2007).  She has also taught privately in the New England area.  She was invited to adjudicate All-County flute auditions for the Volusia County Band in Florida (2006).  Currently Mrs. Barazarte works as Office Manager/ Sales and Marketing Director at Nagahara Flutes.

Ceylon Mitchell

Ceylon Narvelle Mitchell II is currently majoring in flute performance and music education at the Boston University School of Music.  He is currently studying with Professor Linda Toote.  His former instructors include Carmen Lemoine, Sharon Nowak, Corinne McVee, Barbara Eberhart, and Laura Koenig.

A native of Anchorage, Alaska, Mr. Mitchell initially enrolled in the University of Rochester before transferring to Boston University.  He has performed in masterclasses with Trevor Wye, Keith Underwood, Lorna McGhee, and Roxann Berry.  His most recent workshop was the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Flute Workshop, directed by Linda Toote.  Ensemble experience includes the Boston University Symphony Orchestra, University of Rochester Symphony Orchestra (principal), Boston University Wind Ensemble, and various chamber groups.
