BFA Young Artist – Class of 2015

Needham high school senior AMY LIPMAN has been named BFA YOUNG ARTIST for 2014-2015.   Bio below!

Seventeen-year old Amy Lipman is from Needham, MA and currently a senior at Needham High School.  She has been a member of the Boston Youth Symphony since tenth grade and has performed in Boston’s historic Symphony Hall as principal flute with BYS under conductor Federico Cortese.  Amy studies flute with Judy Grant at the Boston Flute Academy, where she was recently named BFA Young Artist.  She has also been a member of the BFA Conservatory Ensemble & Seminar for the past 3 years and has participated in the BFA Mentoring Program.  As an 11th grader, Amy was selected for the MA All-State Orchestra as well as the National Honors Orchestra.  At Boston Flute Academy, Amy has had the honor of playing in masterclasses for a number of world class flutists, including BSO Principal Flute Elizabeth Rowe, London Symphony Principal Flute Paul Edmund Davies, and the legendary Sir James Galway.
